We are delighted to introduce the creative team for our forthcoming production of The Importance of Being Earnest.
Artistic Director Michael Cabot is joined once again by set designer Kerry Bradley and costume designer Katja Krzesinska. The team last worked together on Equus and are currently in the final stages of pre-production. Michael says:
“I saw the finished set model yesterday. It’s always an exciting moment, when the designer ‘unveils’ her completed vision for the first time. Obviously, there has been a huge amount of discussion and we have played with several versions of a ‘white card’ model, but this is when I see for the first time what the audience will see when they walk into the theatre. The model is scaled at 1:25, so it’s tiny really, a theatre space in miniature, but beautifully made.
With all major elements of the design agreed, this is usually an enjoyable time for the design team. As there is a strong focus on the fabrics, textures and tone of the Victorian era, this is now where we all work on the detail. In the next couple of weeks, Katja and I will begin to discuss costume drawings, looking at fabric and colour choices.”
We are also delighted to welcome lighting designer Andy Grange to the LCT production team. Andy is a freelance lighting designer and former Assistant Head of Lighting at RADA.
